We only had drinks but the food looked awesome and the service was amazing. We really enjoyed the raspberry beer. Awesome atmosphere, would love to go back.
On our first night in San Antonio after a serious downpour of rain, the temperature was a steady 88 degrees with high humidity ... sticky does not begin to describe it. We needed a beer and some food. A kindly local directed us to the Blue Star (pub, brewery, restaurant all in one). The waitress brought us water to begin... More
The beer was ok, again disappointed in the pale ale but that seems to be something all across Texas. Having gone to many brewpubs in many of the country's biggest beer areas Tx certainly has a long way to go in this style. Did have their mexican style lager that was just as you would expect. The food menu is... More
So maybe picking a 98 degree day wasn't such a smart idea after all. But it was made better when we looked up from the bike path and saw the sign for Blue Star. We went in and the waitress brought us "Texas Sized" glasses of ice water and gave us enough time to feel almost normal again. We ordered... More
I have been to many a micro brewery all across the country. This was one that truly piqued my taste-bud's interests. Firstly, I admit I did not eat the food here so I have no opinion on it. Ok now back to the beer. I had a nitrobock that was absolutely delicious. We tasted some sour beer that had a... More
If you are looking for a place to eat with different kinds of home and foreign beers, that's the place. We went with friends and were happy to have our dinner there. They have a terrace as well, although we had our dinner inside... remembering that in San Antonio, people are living under the heat all the time. For Canadians,... More
The service & staff were friendly...and the atmosphere was great! My only issue was, I didn't find the beer to be that great. Not trying to knock the place, I just didn't love the beer. They all were "okay" to me. I didn't try the food, but wish I had so I could include that in my review. I certainly... More
This place just south historic district along the Riverwalk was a nice surprise. We stopped here for lunch and had beer and burgers. After spending a week in southern Texas eating medicore food, this was by far our best meal of the trip. The burger were grilled to perfection and the were excellent.
The family was having photos taken down by the river so I stopped in for a beer. Never had Microbrew before and the girl at the bar suggested the King William ale, a seasonal brew. The beer was good as we're the home fries I had with it. There is a nice hike/bike trail right outside so I will be... More
