The menu was crafted to showcase old favorites with New World influences and authentic New Mexican cuisine, and our award-winning wine list is exceptional. This is a beautiful restaurant with delicious food and a romantic atmosphere. The decor, the hand-painted window panes and the twinkling lights strung above in this converted inner courtyard made for a delightful evening. Angel, our server, was perfect...there when you needed him, offering excellent service and keeping the excellent (and large) Margaritas coming. Don't miss the stuffed squash blossoms... More

Service here is excellent. We ate here twice. Food was well prepared Although menu was a bit limited. Reasonable value for money. Very very nice decor in converted inner patio of building. Do make reservations.

Had the best dinner last night at La Plazuela, Laura was our server and advised us to try the Squash Blossom Appetizer, it was spectacular, fresh and so tasty. My salmon was perfect, on a bed of quinoa and grilled asparagus, totally fantastic. We sat by the fountain and enjoyed the lovely restaurant.

Despite the construction La Fonda is undergoing, the restaurant is a calm oasis. We were seated next to the fountain and service was prompt and efficient. The table side guacamole was superb--the best ever! Had stuffed squash blossoms and pork carnitas on polenta. Yes, it's expensive, but not the most, and this is Santa Fe, after all.

My wife and I had dinner here on a recent visit to Santa Fe. La Fonda, the hotel, was undergoing renovations, but the dining room was in full operation and we wanted to experience this old hotel. Our young server (Gaspar C) was very professional - formal, but not pretentious or overbearing. Only service issue was long wait for a... More

When in Santa Fe, I have not been impressed with the food in this town. I mull over many customer reviews from various Santa Fe restaurants and tend to disagree with a large majority of the reviews. I tend to find Southwestern food to be saturated with cheese and spice less, unlike Mexican food. However, La Plazuela at La Fonda... More

I realize this place got a lot of positive reviews but .... I've had Mexican all over the world (including Mexico) and this place was just ok. The guac was outstanding and for $12 it should have been, but the enchiladas were average. My husband got filet, which was also average. The ambiance is what makes it. It is beautiful... More

Having a meal at La Fonda has been on our list of "things to do" in Santa Fe for a while, and we finally had an opportunity to do just that on our last visit to the city. To be honest, even if the food was just "okay" I'd have to give this restaurant a higher than average rating because... More

On a recent trip, I stayed at La Fonda and enjoyed several meals in this restaurant, which has the feel of an open interior courtyard with a fountain in the middle. The hotel's restaurant and lively bar are local favorites, as well as tourist favorites, so a reservation for dinner is a good idea. Prices are reasonable--definitely not as pricey... More

This was a good surprise. Next to the Cathedral we stop in for some refreshments and had some of the best nachos I have had different from the ones we get in San Antonio none the less they were delicious, The staff was very friendly and attentive and provided some suggestions for seeing their beautiful state of New Mexico. Would... More
