The ambiance and the history is the reason you go to the Ahwahnee Dining room. The food is but a little overpriced. Have eaten there before so clearly it was good enough to go back.

We enjoyed a special-treat lunch at the hotel dining room. The setting is spectacular, the service was quite good, the food was tasty, but nothing special, particularly at the price.
Our nature tour had our last night group dinner here. The hotel and the dining room space, architecture and ambiance are spectacular. The food was fine, but not what I expected. The portions were small and OK – but certainly not gourmet. The wait staff (2 people) seemed overwhelmed and slow. So I probably would not go here – especially...

If you are doing the valley with a baby: The Ahwanee Hotel has the best baby-changing facilities in the Valley. The food and booze is well pricey ........ but worth it.
Beautiful illumination in a grand dining area with classical music from a pianist on a grand piano. Good menu selections...we brought our own wine and corkage was not outrageous.

First off- this dining room is stunningly beautiful. Huge posts and beams support a cathedral ceiling worthy of Yosemite. The scale of the room is so appropriate to the park. The stained glass is gorgeous. This is a grand room everyone should visit.
The food is good- but it is quite expensive and I expected the quality to be better....

The ambiance of this hotel and the dining room are breathtaking. There are large sitting areas with huge fireplace to sit in front of and relax after a hike. We secured a window seat in the dining room for lunch, ordered wine and had three serves wait on us. I ordered the trip tip steak entree and my wife had...

The dining room is spectacular to see, especially with the candles burning. And the views were unbeatable. I just expected some substance, too.
We had a birthday dinner in the Ahwahnee Lodge dining room We could have had a window table, but it was right next to a service station. That took some of the ambiance from the spot, so...

The food is high quality, if a bit uncreative. The staff are very professional and helpful. The dining room itself is impressive. MAKE RESERVATIONS! Otherwise you might have a long wait.
