Good menu range of fresh sea food, good service and well worth a visit. Great venue for Sunday lunch during the summer followed by a stroll along the see front.
We visited on the strength of a friends recommendation and it's good rating. Food and service were good but not top shelf as we might have expected - the view is OK but not spectacular. We enjoyed the langoustines and fish but dessert selection is average.
We have been to the Tolbooth Restaurant several times. Last time we went with our newly born baby. As always, the service was very attentive and helpful. As during our previous visits the food was superb! Everything is freshly made using predominately local produce, cooked to perfection and beautifully presented - truly an experience for all senses. Had a wonderful evening here, staff were very attentive and friendly, food was excellent, restaurant was busy but we always felt that we were being served well and did not have to wait long for our food. Access by steep stone staircase should not dissuade diners as a friendly and warm service awaits with exciting, well cooked and presented fresh fish courses which will satisfy the most discerning customers. The ambience is clean and simple and the restaurant is family... More
I am glad we booked as the place was very busy, good seafood and my partner had some of the tastiest vegetarian dishes ever. Wine list was excellent and we had one of the tastiest Chablis ever.

The lobster was amazing, as was the monkfish, and the lemon sole. We finished... More

Asked for a small plate of chips for 5 year old, sorry no chips, and no alternatives offered, so we tried garlic bread ? no garlic bread nor alternative. When asked... More
great meal with fresh seafood, good wines and good service. The meal prices are not cheap but you certainly get what you pay for and there are some nice touches with compliments from the kitchen
