Flighthub.com

Hi there,

Has anyone ever used the website http://www.flighthub.com to book their flights? I see that their prices are much lower than some other 3rd party websites, but there does not seem to be alot of information when I google it. Just suspicious it may be a scam...wondering if anyone has ever successfully booked from them.

Thanks!

No personal experience but the following is from their T & Cs

"All prices displayed on the web site are subject to change without notice until ticketed. In some instances, a fare may change after a reservation has been made. In this case we will contact you to advise you of the fare increase before we proceed any further."

This is quite common with 3rd party sites who do not have access to live prices - they offer a fare and charge your cc.

You then get an email or call a couple of days later saying "sorry that price is no longer available but if if pay an extra $$$ we can get it.

Saying no can often mean a long wait to get your money back - enough of a red flag for me to avoid.

Just a quick peek at their site would send me running!

All prices displayed on the web site are subject to change without notice until ticketed. In some instances, a fare may change after a reservation has been made. In this case we will contact you to advise you of the fare increase before we proceed any further.

The prices set out on the web site may not include taxes or airport charges or other fees. In this case taxes, airport charges and any additional fees will be displayed during the booking process but prior to payment submission. Special conditions may apply to the prices set out on the web site. In the event that your booking is being processed via third party discounters, a service fee may apply.

pay a bit more more and book with an airline, prices are live with no extras.

=====

LOL, what I think you mean is, the prices they *say* they sell flights *from* are printed as lower than some other third party websites print their false prices..

In fact for most of them, even when you press "purchase" they just tell you to wait up to a day and they will confirm, and then they will say "hey guess what that price is gone but for only another $200 (which BTW now is more expensive than the airline) we can sell you that flight? Don't want to take it, OK give us a few months and we'll get around to refunding your money"

... .. think I'm kidding? Unfortunately not :-(

If you believe any of the prices advertised on these sort of websites, can I recommend a nice guy that will sell you some swampland in Florida, sorry I mean prime waterfront real estate.

Just buy from the airline far too many scammers out there.

"the agency also needs to protect itself against fare increases"

Which is exactly why I book directly with the airlines. The price you see is exactly what you will pay. No increases ever and with some, if it does go down you get a refund or voucher.

Also, in the event anything goes wrong, I do not have to try to find someone from a 3rd party booking to help me, I just ask the airline directly.

As with everyhting in life your mileage may vary and one size does not fit all.

Hi all,

Thanks for your responses. I just wanted to follow up - I ended up booking my flight with Flighthub, and then subsequently contacted the airline itself. The booking was confirmed with the airline for the low price that I saw on Flighthub.

I also wanted to point out that even cheapOair has the following in their T&C (similar to what one poster pointed out):

"All bookings are not guaranteed until ticketed. At times, even after the confirmation of a reservation, the fare may change. We will notify you of any fare changes and we do not assume any responsibility - financial or otherwise for any such fare changes. We will notify you of the new fare and at that point you may either cancel or still purchase the product at the new cost. You have the right to cancel the booking at no cost to you if there is a fare increase, you will not be charged any fees for cancelling such a booking."

I think this is general of the 3rd party ticketing agencies. I was just concerned about flighthub in particular as I couldn't find much of an online presence on Google. It seems that my worries were premature.

Thanks all.

well looks like a plug for flighthub...personally, I will stick with dealing direct with the airlines. Hopefully you will not have any issues pop up with your flights Thomas.

BTW, how much did you save vs booking with the airline direct?

Hi Bill,

I saved about 400 for the flight roundtrip. However, the price I paid was actually a price I saw on the airline website during their sale a couple of days prior to booking on FlightHub.
