Flying out of Venice to JFK we found a tiny co-share club with no seats, not one. Priority Pass came with our Amex card and proved priceless via access to a gorgeous club with first class service.

Great news!

We also have the AMEX Priority Pass, but have really seldom been able to use it, mostly due to the airports and concourses that we fly into. Usually, we have access to a UA Club, or perhaps Star Alliance Lounge, so probably have not fully explored the PP options enough - it just seems that when we do attempt to use it, the answer is a resounding "No!"

PP is fine if it's offered to you for free. If you have to pay for membership, then it's best to study the airports you frequent to see there are lounges that suit your needs in terms of both access and quality.
