Air Canada Rouge: What are the pros and cons?

I am flying from Montreal to Barcelona on 7/26, and I have been reading all these reviews about the seats, ife, and more negative things about the airline. This is my first time flying with Air Canada and rouge, so can some give me a pros and cons list and tell me more about your experiences on the 767-300.

Be aware and be prepared to take care of your own needs. Don't blindly count on Rouge to behave like a mainstream airline.

I flew Air Canada Rouge from Vancouver to Osaka on May 10, 2015.

I felt AirCanada Rouge is LLC(low Cost Courier).

There is no video display and you have to have iPad or similar which you must download Air Canada Player before on board.

Food were provided but it was small and not good.

CAs had a kind of outdoor type of casual uniforms which look also cheap.

But two things were good, air fare was low and on time.

As long as Air Canada keeps ticket price low, I use Rouge again.

<<But two things were good, air fare was low and on time. As long as Air Canada keeps ticket price low, I use Rouge again.>> Sounds like a perfect reason to fly them: it is cheap (but you get what you pay for).

Well, not so perfect.

Regular Air Canada Boeing 767-300ER, Economy class seat: pitch 31 to 33", width 17.8", recline 4.5", capacity 187 passengers

Rouge Boeing 767-300ER Rouge class: pitch 30", width 21", recline 3", capacity 256 passengers

according to AirCanada.com

So, you can see how tightly installed seats in Rouge.

This is not for large and tall people for sure.

On the way back from Osaka to Vancouver on May 28, I was in seat 36H and no one in J, K, so I used all three seats for sleeping flat, almost.

As you said, 'you get for what you pay for'

I would say Rouge is another name for LLC, cheap cheap

Economy is tight, 30" pitch is very tight, so.

<< so I used all three seats for sleeping flat, almost.>> You were a happy bunny and got three times what you paid for. ;-)

Rouge Boeing 767-300ER Rouge class: pitch 30", width 21", recline 3", capacity 256 passengers

-------------

Actual seat width is this (within the armrests) 44.5 cm (17.5 in)

If OP wants a little more room I would try to pay extra for Rouge Plus (basically preferred seating with more recline 6 inches and more pitch 35 inches.

I have flown on the Rouge plus and it's not bad (for an economy style product)
