Check in Emirates -Singapore Aiport

We are travelling home from Vietnam via Singapore. As we have booked the flights to Vietnam via Vietnam Airways and home via Emirates on a seperate ticket we will not be able to book our baggage all the way back to London until we get to Singapore.

We arrive at Singapore at 1:50pm however, our flight is not until 21:45 so check in at 18:45 at the earliest we think.

We want to be able to get rid of our bags asap so we can go for dinner outside the airport or just even chill in an airport lounge. Does anyone know what time Singapore Emirates check in opens? or where else we can store our bags? We are the next Emirates flight out after we arrive at Singapore so I can't imagine that they would be sat there waiting for another flight.

Many thanks

In my experience check in/bag drop opens around 3 hours before departure at airports where the carrier only has the odd flight.

There are left luggage facilities you could use at a very reasonable price.

If you haven't been to Singapore before you can take advantage of their free city tours from the airport ...

Get rid of the bags by going to the airside transfer desk and check in for a Emirates there. Show them the bag stubs and they sort the bags. Then do what you wil for the time. Eight hours gives you a little time if you wanted to go into the city but not a great deal...the gate for the onward flight will open just over an hour before take off, and it will probably take you around half and hour to forty five mins to get the transfer sorted so you actually have closer to size hours to fill. That's pretty easy on Changi airport.....shops to view, food to eat, the butterfly and other gardens to look at, catch a film in the cinema.

That length of stop may get you onto the free city tour if you want to be led round, or if you planned a bit then you can sort out doing something yourself....of the six hours you have then you want to budget 60-90 mins for transporting yourself by taxi to and back from somewhere leaving you around four and a bit hours to explore.

Emirates have early check in, opening at 2:30pm.

I've checked in early at Singapore with Emirates before, as I was finishing a trip with family, who were leaving Singapore on an earlier flight to a different destination on a different carrier, and I was going on a different flight with Emirates much later. Early check-in saved a lot of hassle. Enjoy your trip.
