Going to Vegas for a few days and want to take a day trip to Hoover Dam, etc. We will be going on a Sunday, December 20. I have read the TA reports that say you should get there early to avoid traffic but we will not be leaving until we have brunch at 1000. Will we still encounter traffic delays in December and on a Sunday? I just want to be prepared. Also, what order would you do the trip in- i.e. start with HD, then Lake Mead, VOF or what is your best suggestion? We don't necessarily need/want to do the plant tours but would like to go on the paddle boat cruise of Lake Mead. Also, I went to the website about the valley of fire but am a little confused about whether it is a driving tour, walking tour or combination of both. About how long to spend at VOF? Any help/suggestions that you can give me would truly be appreciated. Thanks! BTW there are 6 people in our party 15-53 and we are driving a rental van.
