Being 2 of about 6 guests when we arrived, I was hopefull of some good service. We were bitterly dissapointed. Between the staff always hanging around the fireplace, tv and internet, and the lack of management, it became a chore to attend meals at the restaurant(we pepaid meals for the 5 nights) After comming back to the lodge after a big day on the slopes, there was no chance to sit in the lounge bar area without looking on at the Aussie staff watching a dvd on full noise or just sleeping on the lounges. They did consistantly manage to scurry away at meal service or if you wanted a drink from the bar though. There were never more than 6 in the restaurant, though we ofetn waited over an hour for our pre ordered meals(at breakfast including the time we would like to eat).
Forget getting a lift anywhere as someone was always using the mini van, and on several occasions I saw people refused a lift only to see the van apear 5 minutes aftyer they left. On the day we left I actually asked the manager to stop and pick up one of the other guests and drop him at the lifts as he drove past him to drop us off!
The actual hotel is pretty good. Large clean rooms and comfy beds!! And in a good spot near the Goryu gondola station. With the great snow, this should have been the trip of a lifetime, instead we felt like we were cramping the staffs style!!They did party on late into the night with some colledge students one night, and into the morning. It would of been fair enough if they could of got breakfast done the next morning.Unless something changes, I could not go back.
