So first of all, if you want to get to the hotel from the airport, take the 12 bus to the last bus station Luxembourg Place. Buy the tickets at the vending machine in the station, because on the bus they are more expensive. It's 3.5 euro a journey and you should have coins or credit card because the machine does not accept notes. So you get to Luxembourg bus station. You walk in the direction the bus goes for 50 meters and you will see Luxembourg Place. You cross it diagonally and on your left you should see the sign of Renaissance hotel, a yellow building.
The hotel looks nice, with a fancy lobby at the entrance. You have to pay a deposit, which is 50 euro/night, which is quite a lot if you didn't take it into consideration when you left home. We booked a standard room, and after check in we noticed the bathroom door wouldn't close, and a wooden board from the top of the door fell when we tried to close it. We went downstairs and the receptionist told us the maintenance guy is away till the next morning, so we had to accept the situation. We asked for another room because it is a 4 star hotel and you can't have wooden boards falling in your head, and the hotel does belong to the Marriott chain, and they told us no rooms were available. After we insisted they solved the situation that night, we were sent to our room and a lady was waiting for us there. She checked the bathroom door, agreed there was not a possibility to stay there for 3 nights and upgraded our room to junior suite. She handled things very nicely, she apologized, she really did try to solve things.
The junior suite was nice, the bed is really comfortable (the most comfortable yet), it has a bath tub, bathroom amenities which were changed daily. You have complimentary tea and coffee. The lack of internet is a downside. You can leave your bags at the receptionist at the checkout and you can pick them up later.
Even if we stayed in the junior suite, the overall impression is that an improvement is necessary, it is not taken care of as it should be. It was really clean, I would come back at this hotel, but there were small details that need to be fixed.
