We stayed at the Pisca Studio, one of four apartments at Casa Oleander, for three weeks. What you get is a clean room with a large bathroom (propane demand hot water heater, so you don't run out), a kitchen with the basic equipment, a patio area with lots of privacy and enough furniture, and lots of birds including parrots flitting around in the fruit trees, and a big iguana on the roof. You also have access to the library at Coco Palm, as well as the pool.
You ARE NOT in a hotel!!! This is a budget vacation rental, and it's inexpensive by Bonaire standards. You need to go get clean sheets and towels every couple of days, provide your own food and household supplies, and make your own bed. What you're buying is privacy, quiet, and the ability to cook (and barbecue) your own food instead of always dining out.
The Dutch ladies who manage the properties are very efficient and accommodating, and if you have a complaint, someone will be there to deal with it right away. Samuel, who meets you at the airport and guides you in, is very helpful.
If I were to return to Bonaire, I'd definitely stay at Casa Oleander. I researched a lot before going and looked around while we were there, and you aren't going to beat the price. Several people who stayed when we were there were regulars, and that's the best indication to me.
