Once you reach the golf course, you know you are at the Cameron Highlands Resort. It sits right across the golf course, offering beautiful views.
Inside, the lobby and common area are tastefully decorated in a understated country manor style: warm and cozy, never over the top. My wife and I loved sitting in the library reading or checking emails. The kids loved the playroom with the TV and game console.
The afternoon tea was superb and generously proportioned, despite the eight of us only ordered two sets. We barely had room in our stomach for dinner at the dining room, which was quite an experience. Breakfast in the morning was good, with ample selection in the a la carte menu (plus trolley full of cereal, fruits and juices), though the service could be more prompt.
I suppose it's a problem with us city-folks, since the atmosphere at the resort was suitably relaxed, and overall the resort's service was excellent. From Front Desk and Concierge to Housekeeping and Room Service, they were always ready to help, and we were always greeted with a smile. Though two minor issues dented our experience there: one was the smell of fresh paint in our rooms, which was strong enough to cause fair discomfort to our sleep at the first night. But after a day of airing the room to second night became much more tolerable. Another issue was the poor soundproof effect of the windows, as the resort is right in front of a busy road, and we could hear every motorbike and car speeding feet away into the night. But as city-folks, it didn't bother us that much.
