We had a very relaxing stay at the La Playa resort. We found the staff helpful and friendly. The rooms while a little tired were certainly spatious, comfortable and clean. It was low season at the time of our stay so we opted for the pool access room with private jacuzzi, with the free nights we ended up only paying aprox $100 australian a night with breakfast included. It was excellent value. Again because it was the low season there were not many guests and we enjoyed the pool to ourselves for most of the time. After reading reviews on here I was a little worried about breakfast. However it was more than adequate. We had cereal, fruit, juice, and a variety of hot options each day, not sure what else you could want really. The flies that a few people mentioned in other reviews, were not an issue, the food was all covered and the flies are only fruit fliew...no drama.

Had a 4D3N stay over. Upon check-in, reception couldn't locate our reservation despite presenting confirmation letter. Staff went ahead to serve another guest behind us and told us to take a seat at the lobby. This wait turn out to be more than 15mins, which I have to approach them to ask how is it going. We've also booked Phiphi island day tour with the hotel, which apparently they did not know anything about, till we quote the name of the person who assisted us. Room is big with balcony. However floor felt "sticky". Kettle in room - when boiled water with, water turned out "oily" even after several attempt. Pool undergoing renovation, several tiles came off with sharp edges. Nonetheless, pool attendent is the best staff we've met in the hotel. He never fail to smile and greet us everytime we meet.

Had a junior suite with pool access and jaccuzi - great room - very nice staff - helpful and attentive - read one review that kind of worried me as in it is stated tax of 20 and 7% for service and gov tax in fact these are both govermnet taxes and are 10 and 7% and it is the norm in hotels in Thailand to publish prices without taxes added it has NOTHING TO DO WITH TIPS - if you want to tip a person make sure you put the money in his/her hand or they can't keep it - if you put in the cheque folder they will share with all staff - also the same review mentions being charged for new years eve party they did not go to - well you should have firstly they are great parties and secondly EVERY hotel in Thailand has COMPULSORY new year and xmas eve parties which you pay for if you go or not - it is not in small print its there on every site large as life - they were right however about the travel agents / laundry just up from the hotel great people - all in all for the price paid nice stay and very comfortable with very attentive staff

I've been there 3 nights for my family trip, my kids had a lot of fun. La Playa is the nice hotel with the beaytiful garden. I've stayed the Pool Deluxe room (upgraded from Superior room). My kids very enjoy swimming. The breakfast seems ok but sometimes have to queqe. Good location( near G-Store and can walk to the beach). My husband and I enjoy Thai Massage as well.

I stayed at Krabi La Playa Resort in April for my family trip. Everyone had a fantastic night and enjoyed the entire stay.
The room was large and spacious. We enjoyed three huge pools with swim up bar. The resort has free wireless access in the lobby and around the pool which was extremely handy. The location is perfect with a short walking to the beaches and shopping area. Staff were helpful and friendly but poor English.
we plan to come back
