My wife and I fell in love with the El Taj several years ago. Each time we visit which is about three or four times a year Daniel is always there to open our car door with a huge smile and a heart felt welcome back, always remembering our name and what we like stocked in our Condo. The consistency of maintaining the lush tropical grounds and high end furnished condominiums is amazing let alone retain a staff that is second to none. We are seriously considering purchasing a unit and had a wonderful time exploring available properties with Sandra the Sales Manager.

The beach club and beach were beautiful as always. The water was crystal blue and a warm 83 degrees. A nice addition to the evolving amenities is the partnership with preferred restaurants, notably Imprevist and GiGi's. I also like the addition of being able to charge to our unit when we are at the beach club.

Another staff member that makes you feel special is Lourdes the Reservation Manager who is always available and so patient to assist with choosing the exact unit that meets your needs.

If you are ever looking for the perfect vacation to the very special town of Playa Del Carmen, The El Taj is the place to stay. The resort is located a block from hundreds of restaurants and shops lined along a cobble stoned street (5th Ave) and is a must stroll each day.

As we are becoming "seasoned" Playa Del Carmen visitors don't hesitate to ask for any advice or suggestions.

Room tip: Ask for Lourdes, the reservation manager and tell her your needs and she will assist you in picking the perfect unit.

I just got back from Mexico and had the time of my life. The El Taj was magnificant! the rooms were beautiful, the service was great and the views were beath taking. Even though it is a very exlusive hotel, the owner walked over and introduced himself. Jack was great. He helped us make reservations for 50 and a restaurant and was extremely helpful and accesable.
Thank you Jack and your wondersul team.

If you're looking for a great place to get away from it all & have all the amenities you could want, El Taj is the place to go. The accomodations are wonderful as well as all of their staff. The buildings & grounds are immmaculate & beautifully designed. There was nothing else we could have asked for. The location is great for the beach or walking down "the main drag" of 5th Street. The street is several blocks long & consisits of shops, restaurants, jewelry stores drugstores or any other type of shopping you would want to do. It was truly a wonderful experience.

Room tip: Our room was on the first floor, which made it very convenient.

We had a great 8 days here, especially as we got a great price from a tripadvisor offer / voucher.

We had a 3 bed condo with a roof terrace, jacuzzi and BBQ. My children loved the pool and the condo has everything you need. The maids clean everyday and even do the washing up. It also has a laundry room.

The beach club was great. Really good service, nice music and lovely food. Just like a beach club in the south of France.

The gym is just down the road. It is a proper pro gym, rather than a little hotel one, which was fantastic for a gym bunny like me.

The one down side is that on sat and Sunday nights the music from the strip is very very loud. There is nothing the hotel can do though.

The hotel is on a nice quite street on the beach but the main strip is 5 mins away. Great for restaurants and shopping.

The El Taj facilities are well-furnished and spotlessly clean. On the ocean side they are less than a hundred feet from the beach. On the town side a three-minute walk takes you to Fifth Avenue, the main pedestrian-style shopping street of the town. Rooms are equipped with a large water cooler serving bottled water free of charge--a useful benefit if you're there when the weather is hot. I didn't use the kitchen but it seemed well-equipped and the refrigerator is large. On the third floor I heard no tenant noise and no street noise at night; it looks like a quiet street in any case. Maid service available when you want it, but won't bother you when you don't. The adjacent Indigo Club, on the beach, serves really great breakfasts. I'd go back to this place.

Room tip: I liked my third floor room and an elevator is available.
