Without a reservation we felt very welcome. Enough parking space available in front of the hotel. Even though we entered at 9pm in the evening the staff even stored our bikes so they would be safe for the night. The room was clean and very nice.
The bar and restaurant were inviting and the quality of food and drinks were very good.
The best part was the surprise we got when we opened our laptops and tried to do get some work done. The internetspeed was six times better then the average office speed and ten times better then all other hotels we ever stayd in.
The overall experience was so good that if we need to be in this area again we will stay in this hotel!

My family chose the Holiday Inn Select for a seven-night stay because of the swimming pool and whirlpool featured on their website. My children were really looking forward to spending time in the pool, and my husband and I couldn't wait to soak in the whirlpool. After checking into the hotel, we learned that the whirlpool would be closed for the entire week for repairs. A couple of days later, a notice was placed in the elevator to inform guests that the pool would be closed for the rest of the week because of paint fumes. We were not compensated in any way for this inconvenience, and in fact were treated as if it were our own fault for not knowing this ahead of time as we had booked through Travelocity instead of booking directly through the hotel. This is really not a proper way for a hotel which prides itself on service to treat its customers! Another upsetting issue was the problem with the breakfast we were entitled to. Because our family includes two teenagers, we looked carefully for a room package that includes continental breakfast. The basic rooms offered by the hotel do not include this, so we upgraded to the Executive Level, which on the website clearly states that breakfast is included with the suite (which sleeps four). We had four people in our party, but each morning we were given a breakfast coupon for two people. Even after complaining to the front desk personnel on two occasions, we continued to receive a coupon for only two breakfasts. And the hotel restaurant is expensive -- continental breakfast costs $9.99 + taxes + tip. This really adds up over seven days. We paid extra for the Executive Suite, and didn't get what was promised. Because of the treatment we received, I can only conclude that the hotel is poorly managed. I was dealing with several different front desk clerks, so it appears they aren't properly trained.

I selected holiday inn kanata due to proximity of hotel to my office and I am totally satisfied with my selection.
The hotel is situated just next to kanata main shopping area so it provides one with excellent amenities around.

I stayed in Executive class that is priced a bit on higher side but it deserve that price. I paid around CAD 171 per night for this room excluding tax.
The room was simply great with separate bedroom and living area. The room has well equipped bathroom with all latest amenities and storage area was between bathroom and living room. The storage area is also connected to bedroom for easy access.
The bed was very comfortable and it never made me to feel that I was away from home.
Hotel have descent pool and gym facility however I was not able to use the pool because of my busy schedule.
The Graffiti restaurant serves good breakfast and dinner. Graffiti is an Italian restaurant and is limited to Italian cuisine only and this makes selecting food a bit tough if you have to stay here for long time.

Overall Holiday Inn Kanata is a good hotel if you want to live at peacefull place.

Decided to take my boyfriend at the time to this hotel and spend the days in the hot tub, pool and wandering the local stores and movie theatres. If youre looking for a getaway in the city, i recommend this hotel. You have pubs, family restaurents and a theatre within a quick walk and wonderful rooms and staff when you return.
