Amazing place to visit and see the museum of St. Joseph and brother Andre. I enjoyed every minute in this location. Magical

This is why I came to Montreal. This is the largest Shrine in the world to St. Joseph. Plan to spend at least two or three hours here to see everything and wear comfortable shoes. Also, the life-size Stations of the Cross is amazing and I loved the little Chapel and the tiny room above the Chapel where St. Andre lived. The St. Joseph oil comes in a 2 oz. size for $2.19 CAD, so you can bring some home in your carry-on bag if you are flying home.

This is may be the largest cathedral type building in the world and by the sheer size you can expect lots of walking. Only $3.00 to get in but it wasn't spectacular to me anyway. An up hill walk from the parking in a rain storm left us wet and unhappy. Maybe it was our fault for not enjoying the trip?

Very impressive from the outside. Old basilica was old with a new rood of St Joseph that looked a bit out of place. New basilica was designed by several architects and is too modern and too cement to feel sacred. Views from the top on the outside are vast and very special

Tour is a must! Wonderful story about an 'ordinary' man with incredible faith. The larger Church itself is not amazing, but rather simple; the smaller church below is more inspiring and has stunning Stations of the Cross.

(We got there via a $35 taxi ride that should've been less than $20 - lesson: don't catch a cab sitting on a random side street!!!)
