For a brand new hotel, I was expecting a lot more - especially from the staff.
The hotel itself is nice, and very modern compared to older Garden Inns. Walking into the lobby felt a little like walking into a sushi bar, with the planters full of grass everywhere. Garden Inns have definitely put a lot more emphasis on the "garden" part of things.
Check in was quick and easy, as is with most other Hilton properties. The staff at check in were friendly enough, but not as much as you see at other locations. The room was a huge disappointment. The bathroom was so unclean, I was worried about what the rest of the room was like. Water stains all over the hardwood floor entering the washroom, hair EVERYWHERE - bathtub, toilet, sink, floor. Yellow marks all down the bottom of the bathroom door, and towels not neatly placed in the shower (they were sort of strewn about). We didn't let the staff know as we had some engagements downtown, and basically had to drop our stuff off and go. We came back to the hotel at about 11:30pm, and I was shocked at how inhospitable the staff were! My boyfriend and I walked into the pantry to see what they had, and two staff members were standing by their office door... they looked right at us, and didn't even say hello. When we were done in the pantry, there were four people standing at the front desk (two looked like they could have been from a different department - restaurant maybe) and not a single person said anything to us. My boyfriend even stopped to grab some business cards from the front desk and still, not a word from the staff. Lastly, the hotel seemed completely dead (we literally didn't see any other guests in the lobby/restaurant during our stay) and they gave us a second floor room overlooking the atrium roof. Not super impressed by that.
Once morning came, we packed up and left. I told the front desk agent we were out of our room, and that was it.
I think if the hotel cleaned up it's act a little bit, then I would definitely recommend it. Until then, maybe check out the Hampton?
