We booked a last minute break at Sweeny's, we had seen it on several recent visits to Keswick and it always appeared to be popular. We were surprised at how quiet Keswick town centre was as the weather was really good for the time of year. We booked in and were shown to our room (2) which overlooked the street in front of the building. It was a large room with a double bed and a single, very clean and well presented. The on-suite is quite compact, no bath but a cracking shower, again very clean with complimentary shampoo/shower gel/soap and ample towels. Satellite tv, kettle with plenty of tea/coffee etc. The staff were very polite and helpful, we had our Cocker Spaniel with us and we were not hit with a list of rules and do's/dont's which often appear when the dog is sighted (for dog owners this is always a bonus) Breakfast was excellent, orange juice, tea/coffee, plenty of cereals, toast & jam, fried breakfast consisted of scrambled egg(our choice),fried bread, grilled tomatoes, sausages, bacon and mushrooms. The room has two large windows which are covered with slatted blinds, I agree with another review in that curtains would be a real benefit in keeping the room dark in the morning as the blinds let in a fair amount of light. We paid £50 for the room and an extra £10 for the dog (usually £15 for the whole length of your stay) we considered this good value for the centre of Keswick and would certainly stay again.
Ask for the triple room even if there is only two of you, we were very happy with room2.

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear that you and your dog had an enjoyable stay at Sweeney's Bar. We will certainly consider curtains in the bedrooms when we next refurbish. We look forward to welcoming you back to Sweeney's in the near future.
