The reason I booked this hotel was because it was dog friendly. It did not disappoint in that respect as they were made to feel welcome by the staff and they had access to areas of the hotel that did not serve food. From a human point of view I would make the following points:
The hotel is in the absolute perfect location as a base for Conwy.
There is free parking and plenty of it - and parking can be difficult within the castle walls.
Nice heated outside area to eat or drink and take dogs.
The breakfast was ok, I prefer bacon and sausage really well cooked, the sausage looked liked it had barely seen the frying pan so I left it.
The decor in the room was not very nice at all, the curtains seemed to have some kind of Greek theme going on, a bit strange bearing in mind its such a fantastic Welsh building
The whole theme of the hotel is a bit mixed and random, you have bits of modern furniture, then some Indian patterned stuff, a bit of Greek and then a bit of classic art.
The staff all seemed helpful and friendly.
By 11pm I think we were last ones in the bar and everything was shut up - but there was a night porter who continued to serve drinks, Conwy can certainly be a little dead at night.
A few dogs in the hotel but in no way does this compromise the cleanliness of the hotel - everything is very clean and tidy.
We had not eaten and at 10pm couldn't get any food, not even crisps served at the bar.
Visited the hotel with my wife and 2 dogs - all the things I didn't like were pretty minor things and did not detract from us enjoying our stay at this hotel, but its only fair that I point them out bearing in mind the room was charged at £140 plus £10 for the dogs, for that price I feel a little more attention to detail needs to be looked at. I would love to stay at this hotel again and would highly recommend to animal lovers - but maybe I'll look out to see if they do cheaper offers as I don't think its worth paying £140+
