I was very pleased for the value of the stay; in a city with rather high accommodation prices, I was pleasantly surprised about the price and what one got for the price; great breakfasts; Jill was very helpful and went out of her way to help.

If you love visiting big cities, but don't love the congestion, traffic and over-population of the center of town, Airdenair Guest House is THE place to stay in Edinburgh. It is conveniently outside the hustle and bustle of beautiful Edinburgh, but has bus service practically at the front door that gets you to all the action in 10 minutes. The host family is top-notch; Jill is simply the best. The breakfasts are FANTASTIC! I firmly intend to visit Edinburgh again and Airdenair is the only place I'll stay.

This B&B is a comfortable home, but nothing special. The rooms were clean and neat. The wifi only worked in the dining room and the upstairs landing (which was an issue when traveling with 4 teenagers). I agree with others who kept wondering what they had done to annoy Jill. She was very sharp. Upon arrival she gathered my family on the landing and told all of us to listen and if we asked a question regarding what she had covered she "would not answer it". Breakfast the first morning was hit and miss. Porridge was good, scrambled eggs were not and the sausage was not to any of our liking. We were scolded for not eating and as Jill walked into the kitchen she was heard saying "I knew they ordered too much food". We were told to order less the next morning.
Location was ok, beds were comfortable, but we could have done without the commentary. After being told how nice the Scottish are, Jill was a bit of a disappointment. After talking with others, there appear closer, better options.

This B&B was beautiful and the owners were fabulous. They made a traditional Scottish breakfast (including haggis) that couldn't be beat. The rooms were very nice and clean and we slept really well in the bed. The only downfall is that it is in a neighborhood about a mile away from anything. You can take the bus, but the walk is not bad and seemed very safe. Overall, very good, we would stay again.

Jill was a great hostess and very helpful. We enjoyed staying here. The wireless did not work in our room, however. The inn is a distance from the town center (1.3 miles +-), but bus service was easy and fast.
