stayed 1 night for business in Perth as my usual hotel (Huntingtower) was fully booked
Have to say it was a decidely below average hotel, nothing particuarly wrong with it but nothing right either, there was just a strange feeling of tiredness
Room an average size but very very outdated, despite being clean the general age of the fittings, curtains etc gave it an air of grottiness, the same could be extended to the whole hotel. Whilst in an old watermill is a nice idea I wouldnt say it was particuarly sympathetically done in the 1970's and nothing has been touched since. It is in need of a thorough and expensive update and modernisation to compete with modern hotels
At £71 a night had I paid rather than the company I would have been very very disapointed, the only thing going for it is the central location and the friendly reception staff (the barmaid however was totally the opposite, quizzing me when I asked to put a drink on the room bill (I had a £20 allowance for food and drink included) that I felt like I was stealing from her personally)
In this day and age hotels should at least offer free wireless internet not a very expensive wired connection, and it is all these little things that add up to show how this hotel has not moved with the times and does not offer value for money
I didnt have dinner in the hotel, the prices where very expensive at the restaurant so I forgave my £20 allowance and ate in town instead. At breakfast the next morning this turned out to be a wise desision as the buffet breakfast was luke warm at best and not particually great with cheap and bland bacon and sausages used
I wouldnt stay again, there are far better and cheaper hotels around Perth
