Hotels in Paris are expensive, so we knew not to expect much for this price.
The hotel itself was not bad - small rooms, yes; we could barely fit our luggage in but that's kind of expected. The beds are decent, the shower a bit small but usable; FREE WIFI and (a surprise for us) multiple electric outlets with two of them being UK type sockets - compatible with our electric appliances and it means we didn't have to fight over the converter.
The walls were rather thin though - we listened to people talking in the next room for the whole night, and the voices weren't even muffled one bit.
The hotel is 5 minutes from the metro station, but that metro station is miles away from all the attractions and often require multiple line switch. Given the maze-like metro stations in Paris, travelling soon became irritating.
The district itself is shady; I believe this district is the ghetto, with multiple South Asians / Arabians in crowds and staring at tourists even during daytime. (we're Chinese - very out of place) We dare not stay out too late at night - after 9pm the homeless are all over the streets.
The area also does not have any decent restaurants nearby, perhaps except a McDonalds. One tiny "Italian" restaurant run by Indians sold soggy spaghetti with a splash of tomato sauce.
All in all - for this price, this hotel is not bad; however for perhaps a slightly more expensive price, we would have a room in a much better location and save travelling time and nervous walks back to the hotel.
