I liked the Hotel Opera pretty much. We stayed for 2 nights in a Deluxe Room; for the price, I would have expected the room to be a little more luxurious, but I can't complain; it was nice. The courtyard is a nice little oasis in the city, and the neighborhood is pleasant. I don't have any other Munich hotels to compare it to, but my overall impression is that this hotel is nice, but not an especially good value.

This was the second time in five years that I stayed here. The hotel is smart and well run. It is in a quiet area near the center of town and has some really pleasnat restuarants frequented by locals nearby in St. Anns Platz. The staff are helpful and friendly, all the rooms are welld esigned and the hotel has WLAN. We got a good deal on HRS for EUR135 for a Friday night. Highly recommended.

Pros:

Nice building, nice lobby and courtyard

Original interiour design, lots of cream and white, cosy.

Great location, walking distance to city centre, yet quiet and calm street without traffic.

Close to restaurants, cafes, sushi bars, dry cleaner etc. I especially recommend La Stanza Café.

Comfortable bed.

Great staff, very friendly and helpful.

Small but modern bathroom.

Well fuctioning wireless Internet in rooms and lobby.

Cons:

Clear signs of tear and wear.

The carpet in my room needed a replacement.

I paid 165 euros for single room which felt like 30 euros too many.


All in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Terrific little hotel. The lobby and courtyard are gorgeous and the location can't be beat. Although on a quiet, residential street, its less than a 5-minute walk to the main areas of munich for shopping, tourist sites, restaurants, etc as well as only a half block from the U-bahn train. Room was a bit tiny but perfectly acceptable for the great rate we got. Breakfast was full-service and positively delightful. We would definitely recommend the Opera and certainly will stay again if given the chance.
