The Germans love big breakfasts and if you love an even bigger one which is still properly priced, then this is the hotel to go to! I stayed in various rooms, including corner rooms at high floors, overlooking the Elbe and the harbour and always enjoyed the stay in this hotel. The rooms are relatively expensive given their size and the style is somewhat "cold". The location is good, the S- and U-Bahn are not too far away and most major attractions are within walking distance. Although the hotel is right at the borderline between a new, modern business and housing area and the not so attractive Davidstrasse, it is easy to avoid the latter one if you want to. So even with young children, this hotel can be recommended. The rooftop bar is excellent, but usually very crowded. There are two downsides: Rooftop-bar guests and hotel guest use the same elevators which makes me worry about security and when my room was two floors below the bar, the music and the beat of the bass could be heard in the room
