The hotel is just a short walk from the Centrale train station. Since I stayed only one night and had to catch an early train the next morning, the location was very convenient. The metro is also very near, and we took it to visit the main sights (bought a day pass for 4.5 euros).
The ground floor entrance is quite small, with just a check-in counter behind the door. The guy at the reception was nice and helpful. There is no elevator, so you have to take your luggage up one floor to the rooms. To our surprise, the two of us were given a triple room. No problem as that means we had some extra space to spread our stuff. The decor looked old-fashioned, but everything was clean. No view out the window so we kept the shutter closed.
There is a nook with two or three tables where breakfast was served, limited choices and nothing exciting. Breakfast starts at 8am, but the staff was willing to prepare for us a little earlier when he learned we had a train to catch.
If you want a reasonably priced hotel near the train station, and don't need the frills, you should consider Hotel Stazione.
