I will start with the positives. It is a good location within the walls and close to good restaurants. It was about a 20 minute walk from the train station. We had a very big room with separate bathroom. The bed was comfortable and there was a bar fridge. We also had aircon in the room (which worked well)
Minor problems. We had difficulty communicating with the owner via email (received one reply in Italian) so we weren’t sure what to do on arrival. But owner turned up about 15 minutes after we arrived. Couldn’t get the TV to work (but didn’t need it anyway) and we were keen for a cup of tea but no kettle, instead a coffee type machine that produced hot water, however the water was tainted with coffee
Major problems. There was construction happening next door so there was construction noise from 7.20am to about 6pm. There was also construction dust everywhere. As a consequence our room had a fine layer of construction dust which made it feel very grimy and it was terrible to walk on the floor tiles with bare feet. The other major issue was with a leaking hot water cistern in the bathroom; it was attached to the ceiling (high ceilings) and had a major leak (steady dripping) the leak was hitting the basin and bouncing onto the toilet then onto the floor, resulting in a very wet bathroom. We had plenty of towels so tried to put the bin under the worst part of the leak and lined the floor with towels. Pretty unpleasant. I suspect the leak has been there for some time as there was tape under the cistern trying (unsuccessfully) to block the leak.
Take away the construction and leak, this was ok accommodation for the price but under present circumstances I could not recommend to others.
