I decided to stop over in Skegness with my lad who is three, as the weather forcast was very good for the weekend. I drove round Skegness and pulled up outside a few b&b's and rang the number on their signs, getting various figures, even one at £80 for the one night. I pulled up outside Auntie Ruth's and rang the number displayed. There was a lady outside trimming the hedges, as I rang I heard her phone ring, and saw her answer it lol. So I said I am in the car outside yours, so we may as well speak face to face. So I got out of the car, and met (Auntie) Ruth who I found to be extremely pleasant. I asked if she had a room free, and how much it is. She told me she had a room available its £20 a night per person with breakfast, I thought thats great. I then asked if I pay the same for my lad, and she said, no, its half price for small children. So I got a night for me and my lad for only £30. Which I was obliviously very pleased with.
We then checked in, and paid on card, and we went off out. Whilst my lad was in a play area, I decided to look on Trip Advisor for the reviews of the B&B, and was stunned by what i read. I thought, oh dear, what have I done!!!
However, on our return to the B&B, we had no problems what so ever, and both me and my lad got a very good nights sleep, yes at 8am we got a knock on the door (it certainly wasn't a bang on the door) to tell us breakfast was ready. I had the good sense to set my alarm for 7.30 to make sure I was up in time!!
The breakfast was very good, I will agree on one previous comment though, the sausages weren't that nice, and my lad wouldn't eat his, even though he loves sausages normally. They would be better getting Tesco Smartprice ones rather than the ones they serve to be honest.
The cook Chrisse was very pleasant, and asked us what we wanted, and served very quickly.
On leaving Ruth was very pleasant, and wished us a good journey home. I was then polite and moved my car from outside her B&B and parked on the main promenade, so she would not miss out on a potential guest, I did this after reading previous comments, and tbh i cant blame her for wanting that spot for her guests.
We then enjoyed a great day in the pleasure beach, and even a 3 year old can make my wallet say ouch :-)
So overall, a very pleasant stay at Auntie Ruth's. She only has five rooms, so you cant blame her for being a little protective over the car park spaces outside her B&B, when all said and done, I would not have stopped there, if the space was taken!!
If you read these comments Ruth, many thanks, and will definitely see you next year :-)
