My wife and I stayed here for 4 days in early November 2014 after driving all the way from Hay-on-Wye during our holiday.

The staff are very friendly. Loved their Yorkshire accent. We stayed at the first floor facing the car parking (it's free) and Costa Coffee. Personally, I feel that it is a very safe and cheap place to stay.

The room are Travelodge's standard. Clean and smoke-free.

I certainly recommend Travelodge Huddersfield for anyone who wants to get cheaper rates and easy access to places nearby such as Bradford and Leeds.

If you want to do your laundry, coin laundry is just 5 minutes drive away.

We didn't explore much on food in Huddersfield so we couldn't give you any tips.

Room was booked by internet due to its proximity to the rail station where we were due to arrive after 10pm. The only directions given appeared to be for car drivers and we were travelling on foot. The site was adjacent to a pizza restaurant and drive-through Costas bordering a retail park and industrial area. Signage was not visible until almost at the location. Consequently we made an unnecessary detour and had to seek help twice with directions. Although cold, wet and windy outside, the room was very hot and we had to turn down the heating and open the window, Compact well-maintained room had wall- mounted TV, (about ten stations plus radio) kettle with tea & coffee makings, desk with one chair, double bed with two sets of pillows, smallish toilet/shower cubicle, etc.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here, we searched in our home town for cheap hotels that night and then came across this wonderfully cheap hotel that was clean, comfy and had a wonderful, friendly service!

just come back from a 3 night stay here. the room and bathroom were very clean, the towels were changed every day. the king size bed was very comfortable and the room was lovely and warm. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Well located for shopping in Huddersfield - just a 10 minute walk away. The nearby pub "The Yorkshire Rose" serve lovely meals, including sunday lunch and all 2 for the price of 1.This is our second time of staying here and will stay here again.
