This was our first b&b experience together and we really enjoyed it. It certainly beats most of the hotels we have done. Very comfortable setting, great for relaxation, especially if you miss the feeling of being home. The house is very modern and clean. Ed was accommodating of our late arrival, and based on another guest's experience, he is accommodating for early departures (2AM). Abadin is a great alternative to staying in a hotel when flying out of Montreal-Mirabel Airport. Breakfast was simple, but very delicious. A lot of ingredients were local, Ed even told us where we could buy some of it. The local area is a lovely agricultural community. Vankleek Hill and the towns nearby seem to have an interesting event every month of the year so you won't get bored. Beau's Brewery (just outside Vankleek Hill) is a must do for ale lovers, even if you just go in to buy drinks, it's worth the short trip. There is also a winery nearby for those into that sort of thing. I was impressed that the tv provided has more channels than one can get in Ottawa. The house itself is not on the river, but you have a view of the river when you step out of the front door. During our stay we went into Ottawa each day for business affairs. Although 1.5 hours drive away, Abadin acts as a good base that's fairly close to both Ottawa and Montreal, but is far removed from the rush of either city.
We experienced two minor flaws during our stay. However, none of these would deter us from going again, nor should it deter you, I'm posting them merely for informative purposes. One, the wifi was touchy and mostly inoperative during our stay. Two, the walls are thin so we had to be mindful of our volume. We enjoyed our experience thoroughly, and next time we're in need of some relaxation we'll stay a little longer.
If you have the option, choose the 'king suite', or whatever they call their largest room. T...

Thank you for taking the time and writing a review. We very much appreciate every input we can get.
We love to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and certainly hope you will visit us again!
Regarding the soundproof issue. We had the construction company opened up the walls to install soundproof insulation and drywall but we are in the process to also replace the room doors with special soundproof doors in fall when we are not as busy anymore.
We put a lot of money and effort into improving things and will keep doing so but we certainly always ask the guest to respect other guest and keep the noise down at night especially when walking up the stairs and throughout the house.
We are looking forward to welcome you back.
