We arrived a little after 6pm and the host & hostess where busy since the majority of the guests also arrived a little late. We were treated courteously and shown around the public areas and to our room. Unlike many B&Bs the dining area was not locked up and we could use this as well as the small sitting room and the mini lounge at the top of the stair. All of this was direction was done in less than 5 minutes. Our check out was uneventful.
After check in we had to go find the hostess, knock on the office door to ask some questions and get set up on the computer to get details and maps of Mallow. She also provided her picks for supper, brochures with vouchers and disappeared again. If you are looking for a lot of personal attention and to chat this is not the place to stay. I prefer to be given the details and left alone myself.
The landscaping is very nice, even in the fall out of season. The purpose built house was in perfect condition and was very comfortable. As I mentioned earlier the dining area was left open for visitor use. Visitors are not known for picking up their crumbs and I will not fault my hosts for this, since they are only responsible for putting on a great breakfast. They did put on a great breakfast. There were many people who left very early (for Ireland) a cold breakfast was made ready for them as they wished. Still by the time we ate you would not know a crowd of men had filled the room earlier.
We were a little apprehensive about this stay since there were no Trip Adviser reviews for the venue. Other sites showed a favorable record of visitor reviews. We were relieved to find the room to be much larger than we expected. It is about the size of a King Room in the states. The bathroom was very large with plenty of room. Nicely the towel rack was over the heater. We enjoy warm towels. The room vent is on the window. The cable selection was very limited like a basic plan. No SyFy but yes BBC 1 and 2. My other concerns for traveling in Ireland are as follows, Water pressure low as is common, Hot water/shower plenty available and the shower was fine even though many persons were up before we were, Sleep quality very comfortable, felt like home, a little firm. Noise level was surprisingly low. The place was filled yet we hardly heard anybody. It was like staying in a hotel of quality in the states. Wash clothes: yes there where. Toilet was a little slow. Environmental controls were found on the radiator and easy to use to make the room comfortable for our stay. Power supply was all Irish/British outlets.
There is lots of parking up the left hand road behind the building. I say this because the house is positioned on a Y off the National Road out front. So you may as I did take the right side (Because I’m from the states and that is what we seem to naturally do.) and needed to turn around to get to the parking entrance.
Even though this location is at the intersection of two main roads and the train tracks it is very peaceful. Because of these same things it is an ideal place to stay while visiting Mallow. A short five minute walk gets you to the shops and another five to many eating choices. Another five gets you to many tourist destinations.
Wireless internet worked perfectly.
Always be aware of your surroundings and never act like a tourist. This is an easy location to be aware of your surroundings. While being in the middle of major transportation routes it still had a country setting and feel.
Best pricing I can find for this location is part of an independent travel package. Walking in Mallow seems much easier than finding parking even in the off season. The front two rooms are little off set from the others. I think that staying in these was so quiet because the bathrooms and closets act as a buffer from sound from the rest of the house.
Supper easy to get to.
Would I stay here again?
Oh, yes I would.

If you have a large party you will not want the front rooms. For a close couple the front rooms are...
