First of all, I want to say that I completely agree with the previous review, with some comments.
We stayed at Casa Nemo in August 2010. It's really a wonderful place. The owners, Marcel and Natasja (and, to be accurate, their little doughter Mara) are charming, wonderful people and they really make you fell like you're welcomed there. They have only 8 or so bungalows, so you get personalised attention.
My wife and I took our OWD with them and Natasja was a great instructor, very pacient and dedicated. The diving there is great, cheap, and their rental equipment is very good.
The bungalows are basic but comfortable and roomy. Really, you don't need more there. They have flushing loo, a bed, 24h electricity and a balcony with 2 chairs, a table and a hammock. One tip - bring lots of mosquito repellent, under the moustiquaire and with their complimentary mosquito coils the situation is under control but for the restaurant, at night, you will need it.
The beach is great, really nice. White, fine sand and the house reef is 10 meters away.
As the fellow reviewer said, yes, the room rate was changed between the booking time and the arrival time, and we paid the latter, higher price. But, for god's sake, the difference (for 8 nights) was something like 30$. Not such a big deal. They did some rebate at fun dive prices, so they make up for it.
Yes, they charged a 10% "service fee" (government tax?), and yes, they did not serviced the room once during our 9 day stay there. But I have no doubt that if I asked they were happy to oblige. Also, the 10% I regarded as a tip for the staff, which by the way was great (even if it was Ramadan and they didn't eat/drink during the day). Yes, they forgot about the 10% reduction at room rate for taking the diving course, but, I repeat, the room rate was about 30$/night, so didn't really make a difference. They more than compensated for this by the way they cared for us.
So, If you're thinking about going there, do it, have no reserves! It's a wonderful place on an unspoiled island with beautiful, deserted beach and wonderful diving! Do it before it gets spoiled by mass tourism. But keep in mind, no (I mean zero) nightlife there, for who's interested.
My only suggestion for the owners: do something with the restaurant's menu, it's a bit inimaginative, especially for Indonesia. For more than 3-4 days stay, it's getting repetitive and dull.
