We had booked in to Pint on Punt for our first two days in Melbourne during which we were looking for longer term accommodation (we are staying in Melbourne for 6 moths to work) and and from the moment we were checked in at the counter of a grubby bar which serves as a 24hour check-in and lugged our suitcases up the narrow stairs to our room I already had tears in my eyes. I had never been so disgusted at the thought of spending a night somewhere. I just wanted to leave. But since we had already paid and it was late at night, we stayed, but I didn't touch anything in the room. Although it was a double room, it still had a bunk bed in it. We threw all the bedding up there and slept without pillows and using our own bedsheets!
The whole place looked like it was built 50 years ago and never renovated once, the bathrooms were just disgusting.
The other people in the hostel partied all night in the really shabby living room/kitchen area, right ouside our door, courtesy of the 3 dollar wine et al offers in the bar.
This place is truly my worst nightmare and I recommend to avoid it at all costs!
