I booked this motel for my mum and grandmother to stay in for a night. My grandmother was hugely reluctant to spend a night away from home (has rarely stayed anywhere else in her lifetime) so I had to choose carefully.

This place was perfect. The 2 rooms are very private & separated by a large bathroom & storage area. The motel was quiet despite being situated on a busy road.

The outdoor private bath wasn't utilised by them as they didn't have time, but an awesome feature - especially given it can be filled to desired depth/temperature & uses "fresh" water...rather than typical spa pools. It was very clean and inviting!

This would be a great place for families to stay - lots of space, tvs in both rooms & ideally situated to many Rotorua attractions.

The value for money here is quite exceptional, this is what you get:
Spacious clean units with separate bedroom & lots of light flowing through.
Nearly brand new bathrooms.
Own private outdoor hot spa at back of each unit.
Pool heated by thermal energy.
Trampoline.
Barbecue area.
Walking distance to Whakarewarewa.
Free wifi connection!!

The only possible downside is its a bit far to walk to the hub of Rotorua cafes, bars or the Polynesian pools however it's only a short drive.

We are usually hotel type people but decided to try the motel to cut down on some costs, we're really glad we did because it's been very relaxing. Kids will love the trampoline. All units are ground floor.

Room tip: If planning to use the pool or trampoline a lot, ask for a unit that backs onto the barbecue/ trampoline area. If wanting privacy, ask for the opposite!

My friend and I stayed here as part of a Connections Tour of New Zealand. Our stay was one night and our room was one of several that had not yet been refurbished but was earmarked for this in the future. A sign in the room apologised for the outdated and worn furniture and fixtures.
We had two beds and both couches in the living area converted to beds. The best part was having our own private little fenced in back yard, with our own private hot springs bath, the water comes out hot direct from the Rotorua springs.
Comfortable enough for a short stay.
We stayed there in July 2009, so all rooms should be refurbished by now.

Wow, writting a review after two and half years must have stretched your memory. Yes all apartments are totally refurbished and we are beginning to refresh the apartments that get consatnt use. TopDeck ( as Connections are now called) still stay here. While we value your opinion we suggest the time delay may affect the accuracy of your observations.

I stayed here for one night. The motel was clean and had good facilities - kitchen and bathroom. The 'hot tubs' were rubbish though, they were just dirty bath tubs with taps that were outside, you can't really call them hot tubs. There were 2 single beds and 2 sofa beds which were fine to sleep on.

What a great welcome for our small (10 pers) team meeting. Steve and Gillian were both very friendly, accommodating and un-intrusive in helping us to achieve an intimate, personal team meeting/conference. The facilities are great, with multiple BBQs allowing us to cater for ourselves and relax in the peaceful surroundings. The Fern Room was set up well to accomodate our different meeting sessions (informal Q+A, presentations, workshops, etc) and Steve was always close by to help if needed. Thanks for setting us up for a successful meeting.

Room tip: Rooms across the back are away from the main road (where Logtrucks pass early in the morning), but all rooms are centred around the pool/garden/BBQ area
