I read with interest the previous review re Park Regis Dunedin.. My wife and I stayed at the Hotel on the 18 and 19 November and it was still the Mercure then. We found the service excellent, rooms comfortable without being luxurious, staff extremely helpful and the food good. The bar, whilst it didn't run out of spirits, the service was a bit slow and the omelet I ordered for breakfast took for ever to arrive and certainly the fish and cips weren't served in paper, but on a plate, which I prefered. My lasting impression was a good 3 star hotel, which is all it claims to be, with the excellent staff doing the work of more than one person, in other words, they were understaffed.
