What a shame. Lovely hotel, pleasant room. Great location. Disco come live music venue literally at back of hotel. Monday night disco was bearable. Tuesday night live band was like being in the same room. No way could sleep. Horrendous. Def not coming back.

Objectively the Royal Ricc wasn't the "best" hotel we stayed in, but it was our most enjoyable stay.
A small boutique hotel can't offer all the facilities of a big modern hotel. But the Royal Ricc does offer a personal touch, and a building decorated and furnished in an antique Bohemian style. It's the sort of place you either love or hate. We loved it.

But more than this:-

You are right in the centre of the old town pedestrian area with bars and restaurants a few steps from the door.

The welcome on arrival is warm and genuine.

The aircon coped with the heatwave much better than the big modern hotels we stayed in.

The old thick walls kept out the noise of party town Brno at night.

The buffet breakfast was a delight, the choice, the freshness and the wonderful breakfast room.

We were sorry to leave.

Not a bad location but the room itself was very disappointing - the claims of a 'super comfy mattress' was a lie as ours was so old it creaked every time you moved and had zero comfort! The pillows could even be folded in half and stayed in that position when you let go! We ended up asking for spare pillows so that we could use them to lay on the bed in an effort to give it some cushion! Hotel states pictures are by 'Old masters' but we had a very dodgy clown picture which looked neither old nor masterful, lol. We also had a kettle with 2 teabags and no cups or milk. Free toiletries were quite horrible and we were glad we had our own. In all fairness the staff were apologetic and helpful (provided milk and pillows on request) but this place is very old and tired and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Breakfast was nothing to shout about.
The lift is so slow I suspect it works on a pulley system attached to a tired old donkey in the basement!

Room tip: If all rooms are like ours then don't bother!

Ths boutique hotel was perfect for what we needed (2 nghts).Located in a pedestrian zone, very chic and close to everything. Had trouble at the begining locating it, but the receptionist gave us good directions. You do not need a car, otherwise be ready to pay for parking. The ceiling in the room is unique, very medieval.
From there we left to Vienna, and walked over to the train station, which was convenient.
Very quaint town!

We were here for couple of nights in sweltering weather and were very happy to collapse into our big coooool airconditioned room (402) on the top floor. It's easier to find than you think; drive round Husova until you get to the Barcélo hotel and turn into the city through the taxi park; right up the pedestrian only cobbled hill; bear left down the hill, into the market;turn left after the theatre (Divadlo), statue and two cafés and pull in slightly up the street on the left. Hotel Royal Ricc is opposite you. After you've unloaded your car can for a fee be parked for you (and brought back when you need it). Really good service there.

The hotel is so well located - couldn't be better for tourism. It has everything a traveller needs including a free welcome drink at the tiny bar. There is a restaurant, but we went elsewhere as it happened. Excellent breakfast. I have to disagree (de gustibus non est disputandum) with a previous reviewer and say that the murals and painted glass looked like they'd got the kids in from the beginners' finger painting class, but there we are... Friendly staff (the car parker was unable to get his head round a right-hand drive car and was convinced someone had stolen the steering wheel) and a fair price for a big room. A good place.
