The hotel is "close" to the airport -if the taxi driver takes the freeway. On our way back to the airport, the driver wanted to save, or something (we had already paid for the ride at the hotel), and until we brought it up, he didn't go that route.
The lobby is nice and has been renovated, so your first impression is good. Nevertheless, the rooms are not just outdated, but in the rainy season they smell HORRIBLE! Also, there was a cockroach in the bathroom one morning....
In the restaurant where they serve breakfast, we saw a mouse!!!!!! ....
If I had to stay one night, I would go somewhere else.... and if I were staying longer, I would look for a hotel closer to "town".
You can use their shuttle bus to take you to the skytrain station (You can also walk to the subway station that takes you to the skytrain -only one station away). The shuttle also has a stop at the shopping mall. It only leaves at certain times, so you have to accomodate your schedule.
The people working there were nice and helpful.... But I went to different hotels to check them out, and that is just part of their culture. People are nice everywhere!
Also, don't book the tours there. They are expensive! We didn't know, so we went with a taxi that was cheaper than the hotel, but then I found in town and in the train stations, that they were three times cheaper!
Next time, The Peninsula!
