Stayed here for 3 nights, nice clean hotel but very dated... No safe in my room.. And was given a huge keyring to carry about for my room.. Swimming pool was nice although no decent sun loungers or brolleys for shade and no facilities at all... Not one of the best hotels in chAngmai... Can get much more for the money...

Very nice staff to welcome you on arrival. The location is close to the night market, bars and restaurants. The swimming pool was clean but quite small. The room was a good size and located on the 16th floor which meant that it was quite and with good views. Our stay was very pleasant and we recommend this hotel.first class i give nancy reception and f&b team. next time repeat again your hotel,

I stayed at the Royal Lanna Hotel from October 26-30, 2014 and booked directly with the hotel because of the decent Trip Advisor rating and reasonable price. It turned out to be an excellent choice and was literally steps away from the Night Market and numerous local eateries! There was a pool conveniently located on the fourth floor for those in need of a cool dip after a long day of shopping or sight seeing.

The staff at the reception desk were friendly and efficient. They spoke fluent English and went out of their way to answer any questions I had. My huge room was on the ninth floor, away from the elevator and had an interesting view of local life below. It was simply decorated, had good A/C, a refrigerator, TV, comfortable king size bed, fluffy pillows and was spotlessly clean and quiet. A delicious buffet breakfast with a selection of Thai and Western dishes was included in the price of the room. I highly recommend the Royal Lanna and will definitely stay there on my next visit to Chiang Mai!

Room tip: A room on the sunny side of the hotel away from the street is better. Floor 5 and above would be good. If a view is important just remember that the higher the floor the better the view (:

Great location and best price in the area for what it offers though it is dated.
Breakfast is limited in choice but good quality. Excellent service in the dining room. Front desk were not as efficient as they used to be. No traffic noise. Right next door to the Night Bazaar and many restaurants within 5 minutes walk.
Been going there for years. This was not the best visit.
The pillow was the hardest i think I have ever had anywhere and the room faced directly East, the curtains were so thin we tried to get back to sleep with towels over eyes and then the A/C had trouble as the room heated up.
The hot water was warm/hot/cold/hot/cold continuously.
Had to sit in the toilet to get wifi intermittently. The toilet kept self flushing every couple of hours.

Room tip: DO NOT face East.

The Royal Lanna Hotel is value for money. ROOM IS FUNCTIONAL. Front staff sre helpful and friendly and you can come early if yr room is free... Right in the main action but quiet and safe. The bed can be a little soft but everything else id good. Breakfast is free and good value. 9 out of 10..but wait theres more....you want a 3 month stay its only 6000-9000 baht per month.
