I stayed several nights in this hotel. The room was quite comfortable and very well located in Old Section of Istanbul. I would say it is ideally located as the street tram wraps around it but a block away. The tram runs up the hill to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi, and all the way around to the Grand Bazaar. In the other direction it goes the few blocks down to the Spice Bazaar, Galetta Bridge, and I believe crosses over the bridge and up into the New District. I walked to all these places quite easily, but it was nice to be able to hop on the tram if I was in a hurry or if I was just tired of walking at the end of the day.
The hotel staff were very good and helpful with excellent English skills. The included breakfasts were very good with a wide variety of traditional and Turkish fare. The room itself was quite nice, the bed comfortable, and a small balcony just large enough to stand and survey the street below or have a cigarette if you were so inclined.
The hotel is related to Hotel Sapphire which I am guessing might be even a little nicer, but having been by both locations, the Sapphire is closer to the top of the hill and the Blue Mosque, etc., but thereby further from the Spice Market, bridge, and what I found was a nice collection of restaurants that seemed a little more authentic and cheaper than those closer to the main tourist draws.
