Aside from the name of the hotel, which I find difficult to both remember and pronounce, it's tough to fault The Diaghilev. I have very much enjoyed my stay there, which is a feat in itself. You see, I have a lot of experience with hotels, having worked as a travel writer, so I'm not easily impressed. This particular hotel really stands out, however. I really appreciated the complimentary wifi, artistic flair, location, artwork on the walls (which you can buy if you fall in love), spacious room, and the AMAZING soaps (which I’d gladly buy if they were offered — I really liked the loofah soap in particular). But more than anything, what truly left me swooning was the service — the two women working in reception on the evening of our arrival were personable, funny, warm, yet extremely professional (with great English, to boot). That made all the difference. I'd definitely stay here again. (On the con side, which was overshadowed by the rest, I found the double beds to be a bit small...and I'm not sure that I'm so crazy about the black sheets, no matter what scientific research shows, although it was an interesting element. There are other interesting ways to play with light, too.)More
