We had a lovely comfortable stay here during our trip to Cusco. Nothing to complain about.
The good:
- Every staff member was very friendly and welcoming. We dealt the most with Amira who was very helpful on the front desk and patiently answered all of our questions. She also surprised us with some hot coca tea which she brought up to our room after we checked in - possibly she could see the 24 hours of flights and airports had taken a toll!
- Very comfortable beds with a duvet and plenty of warm blankets for colder nights
- Powerful HOT shower
- Free luggage storage for 4 days while we went on the Inca Trail trek to Macchu Picchu (this is offered as standard by most Cusco hotels but still a very helpful feature)
- A good breakfast selection (cereal, toast, bread rolls, jam and butter, fresh fruit, ham, cheese, tea selection and coffee)
- lovely position in San Blas (which is a very pretty & atmospheric part of Cusco city made up of narrow cobbled streets and plenty of artisan shops selling quality silver, crafts, alpacha goods, etc)
The bad:
- Only one slight negative was the room was not very well sound proofed so we could hear chatter on the street outside our window. But this was not enough to keep us awake and was simply down to the historic age of the building and having a lovely large shuttered window opening onto the street below.
Tip: I would definitely recommend trying Pachapapa restaurant 5 minutes down the street from the hotel opposite the Iglesia de San Blas.
