This is a comparatively new hotel down a side street from the main activity in Luang Prabang. The rooms are lovely with wide timber floors and beautiful hangings and some have mini-terraces or outside spots to sit as well. The pool is a central feature and just what you need after on a hot day. The staff are pleasant but don't appear to engage particularly with the guests. The only disappointing aspect of our stay was the breakfast which was very limited.

Room tip: If you want wi-fi, be sure to specify that in your booking. Our first room (on the top floor) had poor wifi connection. Luckily, they let us move to a downstairs room which was much better.

This is our second trip to Laos, so we were prepared for the language difficulties, but the staff just don't seem to care at all here with their indifferent, unhelpful and unenthusiastic attitude.
On checking in we were shown to our two rooms which were both full of mosquitoes, it was obvious that the mosquito netting above the beds would be mandatory, pity not all of the beds had one, when we asked for another one we were told "maybe tomorrow". No pillow slips on our pillows but this was fixed on our third request at reception. The tv and Internet regularly would cease to work, but this was no big issue as we didn't come to watch tv, just annoying when at the end of the day you want to send/check your emails etc. The pool was filthy/ unhygienic with insects breeding in the water, there appeared to be little cleaning if any done on the pool with cloudy water the norm. This was particularly irritating as it was a main reason we selected the hotel , when traveling with young children in these hot climates, we find it great for the kids after being out in the heat all day. The breakfast buffet was limited, when offered. Not having the toilet tissue replaced two days in a row I found unacceptable , and then to be charged US$12 for a 10 min transfer to the airport which their website said was complimentary was the final straw. We won't be recommending this hotel to anyone soon.

Room tip: Downstairs rooms stay a bit cooler than upstairs ones but noisier as walls/ floors very thin

I would heartily recommend this hotel except for a couple of problems, one major. The rooms are large and nicely decorated; the balcony makes you feel you are in paradise; the baths feature really cool rock walls enclosing the tub. The staff is quite helpful. The lobby has a good Internet terminal, free, the best service I encountered in a 30-day trip throughout Southeast Asia. The location is good, right next to a good laundry and a short walk from the main drag. My minor concerns were that the in-room safe did not work and the breakfast buffet didn't offer many options. The worst concern, one that would keep me from ever staying here again, was the walls that seem designed to transmit the least sound from one room to the next. I was awakened by my neighbors' alarm clock, I could understand their conversations and hear them brush their teeth, and I think it was they who complained to the front desk when I had my TV on at a normal volume at 8:30 pm. Other people in my group had similar experiences, so it wasn't just my wall.

Our group of 11 stayed here for 2 nights. Room clean and spacious. Batj facilities were good. Breakfast was excellent. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Lost electricity for a time, not serious. WiFi in the lobby. Altogether an unexpectedly nice hotel at a remote city. Would not hesitate to recommend, all things considered.
