I had read all the glowing reviews on this place and was eager to book it for our 3 night stay in Luang Prabang. I attempted, unsuccessfully, to book it online. I then emailed the owner, Vong, and made the booking via email. I was very glad I did. This guesthouse is lovely and quaint. The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable with modern bathrooms. There is lovely woodwork throughout. The first night we stayed in a room facing the back of the guesthouse and then switched to a room with a view of the Mekong for the last two nights. The guesthouse is small, with fewer than 10 rooms. It's quiet and peaceful. Definitely not a spot for those looking for bustling, partying accommodations.
Vong is charming and hospitable and his staff were very helpful and polite. They were happy to make recommendations, orient you using a map of the town (which is very small and easy to get around), or assist in any way. The breakfasts were plentiful and delicious and served on the terrace outside facing the Mekong or inside if you preferred.
There is WiFi here but it is only accessible on the main level, not in the rooms. They have one laptop for communal use or you can use your own laptop there.
Vong gets up early every morning to give alms to the monks. We woke up early one morning and observed the alms giving ritual and the procession of the monks. It was very interesting.
A lovely little spot to stay. Would definitely make a return trip.
