We have been staying here for over 15 years now and still love it so much! Location is the best! So central from everything! Especially in love with the garden, such a beautiful green lush garden, with birds and butterflies and squirrels. You can also see them at the pool. I can sit there for hours just looking at all the green, the birds and the white clouds in the blue sky passing by. For me this is paradise! Rooms are simple but have everything you need, including a terrace. Cleaning every day, very nice staff. The price is more than reasonable, for what you get and the location!! No breakfast anymore but I prefer that as there are so many nice breakfastplaces nearby to choose from! Hope I can enjoy many more years in my favourite hotel!❤️

This is not so much a review as an outline of the current situation for lovers of the Laghawa. At present the Laghawa appears to be moving slowly towards a formal reopening. Rooms are being painted, and the the gardens and pool appear to have been maintained throughtout the pandemic. The pool is in excellent condition. They are not yet open for bookings online (whether via their website or Booking.com or Agoda) or, possibly, by telephone. It seems to be too soon for them to be able to give a time-frame for full reopening. They do have 5 clean rooms available for walk-in customers at 350,000 rupiah per night, no breakfast. If you are staying elsewhere in Sanur you might also opt to swim in the Laghawa pool for 50,000 rupiah; bring your own towel. (I was staying at the Gazebo, but swam here because it really is a beautiful pool.) The Laghawa beach bar is open. I met several old faces among the staff, including Ketut. They are still working here part-time and are hoping that they will see you again soon. If you are in Sanur and are looking for very reasonably priced accommodation in a good location, and with access to an excellent pool, please check out the Laghawa.

Budget accommodations. Moved to Sanur from Legian for the last few days of my trip for a slower, quieter pace. Accommodations on this side of Bali are more expensive (more resorts less budget accommodations)than Kuta and Legian so paying more than I did on the other side. Staying 3 nights here in their regular room. Rooms are basic and clean. Air con, older tv and stand up shower. The first morning the toilet leaked then flooded. I thought, ah there’s the toilet I read about in a previous review! We changed rooms and no issue. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a bit disappointing but ok Grounds are beautiful with private walk to the beach The pool area is nice although the pool water is a little murky

Christmas in Sanur. Dec 4th - 31st. Once again this hotel did not disappoint. It's great to be welcomed back as ' old friends'. The staff are very friendly and so helpful, the room was well cleaned, and the aircon worked very well as did the fridge. Breakfast is more than adequate. I only have toast and a cuppa at home so I enjoy the extras. Loved the Jackfruit fritters. Spent everyday on a lounge under an umbrella on the beach.( I live near the beach at home and never go there!!) Love the Seaside Beach cafe and the staff. They even make me a weak....not strong....coffee. Food also good especially the Spring Rolls so thanks to all the staff. The Laghawa is an older hotel and does need some money spent on it especially the bathrooms BUT to be able to stay on the beach for 4 weeks for a great price it ticks all the boxes. Looking forward to returning for 3 weeks in May.

The owners of this hotel need to loosen the purse strings and spend some serious money on refurbishments! For the lovers of old style Balinese architecture this hotel seems to tick the boxes combined with a good location a short walk to the beach. That's where the positives STOP. This been my 40 plus visit to Bali for work and pleasure I have stayed in a wide variety of resorts. This unfortunately due to lack of maintenance is the worst by far! My parents in law on a budget chose this place when the usual hotel down the road was full..my husband and son chose to join them for my father in laws birthday celebrations . The room my husband was upgraded to next to theirs was supposed to be deluxe twin..not so deluxe as the aircon did not work for the 4 days they were in that room! The beds were even harder than the typical Asian bed and the pillows worse! A sweat box. Did he tell management about the aircon?? Yes he did and nothing done or other room offered! Ok I arrive on day 5 due to work committments. My husband negotiates a 2 brm villa at resort with owner at a very reduced rate of $?? a night for six nights with our own plunge pool! Sounds good doesn't it!! The plunge pool was a nice shade of green when we moved in..the colour tiles maybe..No it turns out full of algae due to lack of cleaning! The villa had 2 bedrooms and 2 Balinese style outdoor bathrooms which also sounded great. Lol Master bedroom A/C did not work (really)the Tv in living area was missing in action though table and plugs were there, no A/C in living area so another sweat box..bathroom attached to main bedroom was a disgrace. Toilet wouldn't flush properly, shower wouldn't drain properly and hot water tap came off in my hand one night allowing a scalding hot spout of water ejecting from the wall!! Lots of fun! My son got a serious ear infection from main hotel pool which was dirty when they arrived and milky but did improve by end i of week..Everywhere in this hotel there is signs of neglect, broken this and broken that. The breakfast is basic in the extreme but for lovers of quiet this hotel is definitely that as everyone heads down to the beach during the day. I work for an airline an travel is my job so have seen all sorts but seriously cannot in anyway recommend this hotel. The staff as usual in Bali are nice although some English speakers on the front desk would be helpful as would the hotel responding to emails which doesn't happen at all !! The first and last visit unless some money spent to rectify the neglect. There's budget then there's THIS🤔😟

We came here for dinner. The service was wonderful and the food beautifully presented. We had 2 serves spring rolls, 2 spaghetti bolognaises, 2 banana fritters with 1 small beer, 1 cocktail and 2 red wines for $48 Australian. The meal was delicious but the servings of spaghetti could have been a little larger.

If you don’t want all the bells and whistles, and just want to relax in a waterfront hotel then this is the one . The rooms are clean and tidy, air conditioning and a frig. It has a huge pool and it’s a delight to walk through the property to the beach ( for $50 per night you can’t beat it )

Rooms are clean, but old and tired. Shower high on wall with no adjustment, low water pressure. Old television, very small for room. Great pool, not crowded.breakfast basic eggs, pancakes.Lots of great eateries close by. Beach area excellent.Rooms are all on ground level with nice patio to sit on for afternoon tea.Older clientel here during our stay. Could do with some renovations as it is getting a bit tired.
