SVP is a small establishment located on a hill. The climb wasn't too bad, once we got to our rooms we were amazed at the impeccable cleanliness, modern furniture (including a nice couch) and space! We were told that the rooms were just renovated too.
The place doesn't come with many bells and whistles, but you can't mistake the charm of their home-made fixtures and warm hospitality of Mol (pronounced Mon) and Serge. Only drawback is the walks to Bangla that will take you realistically about 20 mins (I'm assuming people who say 10-15 mins are doing power walks)
Speaking about Mol, she went over and beyond what was required. She even offered to help us book our tours and cab rides and made sure we were not ripped off with tourist prices. Most of all, the point to drive home is that she OFFERED without solicitation.
The fact that we did not have to explicitly request only to be given unhelpful answers was a refreshing and pleasant experience for us travelers.
On our first night, we actually had drinks together, shared laughter and conversations. Thanks for making it a memorable stay.
Oh, did I mention she makes a mean Thai meal as well?
For the really fair price we paid during peak period of Nov (1,500 baht), you really can't go wrong here.
