We only had a few days (or four nights if you want) and the sister of my wife recommended this place. So we took a double package and I have to say it's a very nice place. A lot of people complain that the resort is not brand new but our garden view villa was one of the nicest rooms I ever stayed in. The bathroom was partly redone and in excellent condition and on top of that comes the super outdoor shower.
The greenery is wonderful and it would not be there if the place had just been built so you have to be grateful for that, especially because they are making a substantial effort in terms of Eco-friendliness.
But not everything is great. The breakfast is ok and hat reasonable variety to choose from. Most of the warm dishes are of the baked beans and fried bacon sort - who ever came up with this to make it the standard in all hotels should be made to eat it for all eternity. Anyway, there is only one local dish and that is adapted to western tastes. The fried Kway-teow has no taste to it and the sambal of the Nasi Lemak was more like ketchup. Don't order food at the bar next to the swimming pool, it's pricey and tastes crappy - in the best case there is no taste at all. So food wise it's a letdown but Pantai Cenang is only a five minute walk away and there are plenty of eateries. There is a Mamak-style restaurant called "Tomato" (not "Red Tomato", that's a fake one trying to steal the name). Try the Mee Rebus or the Roti Sardine / Roti Canai there, this as Malaysian as it gets.
Frangipani is a place for families and it is also well equipped for travelers in wheelchairs. During the day you can see the planes coming in an leaving, approximately one per hour. Then there are a lot of Jet Skies and boats tugging people on parachutes. So it's kind-a-busy but the beach in front of the resort is empty.
