The most beautiful hotel in the most beautiful location. Its a truly breathtaking place. The rooms are huge and comfortable, the beach is lovely (the best on the island, by miles) and the service is outstanding. there's really nothing I could fault this hotel on. I guess the only thing is that it's down in the south of the island and therefore quite far away from all the action in the north. But if you want a relaxing holiday in total luxury, this is the place.

If you stay in the main resort at the beach make sure you go up to the villa resort on the other side of the road (they'll take you in a golf buggy but its only a 5 minute walk). the infinity pool up there is stunning - best views ever!

Look around for deals - we got a great 2 nights for the price of 1 offer because we went out of season.

thank you, Pimalai, for making our holiday so amazing.

Myself and 5 others stayed at the pimalai for 7 nights. It was our first trip to thailand.
The pimalai just cant be faulted, its was the most beatiful place i have ever stayed in.The grounds ( or should i say rainforest) that its built into is kept looking lovely, very neat and tidy.
The staff were fantastic, so friendly, will do anything for you, they bow everytime you walk past them ( which took me a while to get used to).
The hotel is very big and you can get a private golf buggy to take you were you want to go, i would really recommend getting a buggy to take you up to the pool at the top of the resort! The pool is set near all the private villas, it is beautiful, the views from up there are incredible, try to get up there for when the suns setting.
The rooms are kept lovely and tidy and the very nice toiletries replaced every day.The bathroom is lovely and big and the shower outside is fantastic!
I would def recommend the pimalai to everyone who likes a bit of luxury, im itching to get back there already.

We stayed in Pimalai recently for 4 nights and wished we didn't have to leave. We had a Pavilion 1 bedroom Suite, which was quite large, very clean and nicely decorated. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The property is beautiful, with a clean stretch of beach. The restaurants were a bit pricey, but the food and portions were good. But as others have mentioned, there are other good options nearby. Simply Life by the 7-eleven is another good alternative to eating at the resort. It does take a while (~2.5-3h from Krabi Airport if you're not using hotel transfer) to get there, but it's worth it. It was a nice place to get away from it all after travelling all over Thailand for 2 weeks. We would go back in an instant!

We loved this place.! Even though we had their "cheapest" room it was beautifully designed and every comfort catered for. The staff were always sweet, polite, welcoming and willing to please. The resort is divided into 2 halves (beachside and hillside) We stayed beachside (although we visited the hillside resort which you can get to by asking for a lift at reception and you can use the facilities up there - stunning views). We didn't eat in the resort at all (except breakfast which was included) as meals were very pricey. We found a few restaurants by walking along the beach. Onto the beach and turn left takes you to Same Same but Different restaurant (mentioned in Lonely Planet). Food was good but ambience was lacking as apparently their music system was broken! However their garlic prawns were so good I had them each time I went! Turn right along the beach brings you to a couple of small bungalow resorts with one or two restaurants and if you walk along a path down the side of the Why Not bar to the little road behind these bungalows you will find a 7-11 and a brilliant little place called the Drunken Sailor (also featured in Lonely Planet) where they do wonderful chips and tuna fish toasted sandwiches with friendly staff. There is also a nice restaurant at the end of the beach situated on the rock face so the tables are all on different levels which look very pretty at night and the food is good and reasonably priced.

Getting to and from Pimalai resort is expensive if you use their transfers but it is very effortless if you do. Perfect place for a restful and romantic holiday, perfect for couples.

We had tried to book direct with the hotel but had problems with their website so had to book it with an agent. Later, we found we probably could have got a better deal if we had managed to book direct.

we have just returned from a fantastic honeymoon at the Pimalai.
whereas yes, the journey is long it is well worth it! The resoirt is beautiful and the beach is magnificent.
Food is a little pricey, but had no complaints. The staff remebered you at dinner and was always great service.
Our room was comfortable and clean, lovely batheoom!
One other thing, we went on a great cookery course at Time for Lime (better than theirs) which was brilliant fun.
