Well, I don't know how to start. This is the most charming place I have been in my whole trip to Sri Lanka. The building is great, balcony is awesome with old colonial furniture and overlooking the Sacred Tooth Relic Temple entrance, flowers stalls for the offers and lake views. Balcony was entirely for us and at night it was very quiet and relaxing. Management is incredible nice, owner was all the time trying to help and his wife keeping all the fresh flowers in the balcony and tidying up. Restaurant downstairs very good value and great staff.
We had the best room of the hotel, with toilet inside and access to the common balcony. No internet, no hot water, not very clean shower and it might have had some bed bugs (not sure about it because morning after I had quite a few bites but my husband thinks I got them somewhere else, he did not get any).
It was great to be in the city centre, walking distance to everywhere and listening to the monks at night and in the morning.
For the price we paid (Rp 2200) we cannot really complain, so I would recommend this place if you are travelling on a budget.
The room at the front with access to the balcony and toilet inside is the best one. Other guest told...
