I was pleasantly surprised when on request, i got an upgrade to a suite, since we were three of us as a family. Excellent decor inside, though the outside view of the hotel is not so great. Good food and service. This place is located at a walkable distance from the prestigious Taj Mansingh Hotel.Value for money hotel , located near thecentral secretariat region of new delhi. Airport ( terminal 1) is not far, it is about 15 kms.One can take a fresh morning walkinside the Lodhi Gardens which is a ten minute walk from the hotel. There is an upmarket shopping arcade next to the hotel which is popularly called Khan market, where one can do quick shopping . the metro station of Khan market is just a minute walk from the hotel on humayun road from where one reach any corner of delhi. But the metro is quite crowded. This is the locality where the wealthy rich and central ministers and top ranking officals of India stay.

Room tip: If you are travelling on a week end pls request for a complimentary room upgrade. If you are lucky you may get a superior room which is quite spacious, or a suite.

This hotel is outstanding.
It excels in service, hospitality, food and rooms.
The staff at this hotel from front desk to the General manager go out of there way to ensure a first class experience.
The hotel is situated 100 metres from Khan market, the rooms are double the size of a standard hotel room and they have large balconies.I can't speak to highly of this hotel!!

I dont agree with most of the other reviewers and I don't know if I just got a very bad deal but when I pay over $200/night for a hotel room and I pay "luxury taxes" for everything I expect a bit of luxury. It keeps saying "old world charm" if that means old wooden furniture and smelly carpets thats correct. I spent 10 days here partly for a conference and partly for a holiday and my bill was well over $2200. Ouch! This is New Delhi- not New York!! The pluses are the hotel is in a good location and the staff are helpful. Having said that the internet service that they charge exorbitant fees for doesn't work- so if you stay here for business, watch out.
I wont stay here again and I wouldn't recommend it.

The title says it all really. Particular highlights are the quality of the reception and bar staff, the informal restaurant and size of the rooms.

The Khan market (a collection of shops rather than a market proper) next door is a good place to spend an easy hour or so browsing.

I prefer this hotel to Taj's other property (Mansingh) although this is at best a 4 star property with old world decor, small restaurants, and almost everything half or less of the size of Taj Mansingh

Whenever I am in Delhi for a business trip, I always like to go back to this property as it is one of the most conveniently located hotels. Evenings are also not boring as one can walk to Khan Market, which is adjacent to this property

What I like most is the big spacious rooms with warm furnishing, exuding an old world charm, which makes me most comfortable during a stay. Unlike a big glass clad fortress of a typical five star hotel, one can really enjoy the wide balconies, which add to the charm

The place for break fast is really small and congested. If that can be improved, it will add to the attractiveness. Overall, a decent option to explore in Delhi

Room tip: Third floor balcony rooms
