I've stayed at many Double Tree hotels and enjoy them very much. I am usually in a hotel at least 50 nights a year so I understand what to expect. Check in was fairly easy here but no personalization whatsoever, even though I was a Gold member. In fact, the employee didn't even make eye contact with me and kind of just threw my cookie on the counter.

I got to my room and realized it was decorated for the 1976 time period. It was extremely outdated and worn. My comforter had large rips and holes in it and the carpet had heavy wear marks everywhere.

I can look past all of that but, at around 6pm when I was talking on my cellphone to my wife and was wearing only my underwear and undershirt, someone simply walked right into my room with their own key card. I came around the corner to find a security guard who did not apologize for being in the middle of my room without knocking but instead asked me if anyone left a pair of swimming trunks in my room. What? Needless to say I wasn't happy.

Finish my night's stay with an unusual check out process. I am used to the ability to leave my keys in my room and have a receipt under my door. No suck luck here. I had to traverse the massive lobby and check out manually. No big deal except they checked out the wrong guest and gave me their $1,200 receipt for a one night stay. No apologies or anything, just another 5 minute wait while they checked me out.

I honestly have nothing good to say about this hotel except for its convenient location.

Regardless, I will certainly not be staying here again.

This was our second time here. We really like this hotel as the rooms are clean and quiet. The beds and bed linens are awesome. In room coffee with a Starbucks in the lobby too. Nice breakfast buffet.

Ordered the $12.00 salad at the lobby 2050 Restuarant and received a cup uf greens, a handful black beans (at best), a few sprinkles of cheese and no red pepper. I'm not exaggerating! The food & beverage mgr should revisit this. Do not order this alas. the sushi bar was good, avoid the salads. 50 cents of vegetables for $12.00. Shame on you!

We stayed here for three nights in June, and we were very satisfied with the hotel. The hotel is visible off the 101 freeway, which makes it a great location if you are going to travel within the Bay Area. It is also minutes from San Jose Airport, and I believe the hotel offers shuttle service to the airport. The hotel is sprawling and quiet (even with the freeway nearby). The warm cookies given at check-in (characteristic of Doubletree Hotels) are certainly a nice touch. There are a few restaurants inside the hotel, and I was surprised to see a sushi bar in the lobby lounge (the sushi was quite delectable). Though I didn't use the pool, the pool area is very nice. Our room was large and nice, pretty much what we expected. We were primarily in town for a college visit, but we also traveled to San Francisco for one day. We took the Caltrain up to San Francisco to save us from any parking headaches (and we Midwesterners are not used to those hills!). Caltrain is a great alternative to driving, even though the train was packed with Giants fans heading to AT&T Park. If you're not looking to go all the way to San Francisco, don't miss Santana Row about 10 minutes away in San Jose. It's a cute outdoor shopping center with plenty of restaurants, and it has a very "European" feel to it. Overall, the hotel is a good pick if you want to be close to the airport. It's large, and the staff are very friendly. We would definitely return.

This Doubletree is a big hotel, with big, clean rooms and pleasant service. They offer a convenient shuttle service to San Jose International Airport, which is five minutes away. The hotel sprawls a little, so there is a bit of a hike from the front desk to the guest elevators. The lobby sushi restaurant is pretty good, and so are the sandwiches at the bar. A friend reported the steak house, alos on the property, was good, but seemed a little overpriced.
